UPDATE: State Police Investigating Fatal Accident on I-290 in Elmhurst
Officials have released the name of the victim.
UPDATE Friday, Sept. 13:
The DuPage County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in Tuesday's crash as Charles O'Connell, 49, of Elk Grove Village, according to The Daily Herald.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on westbound Interstate 290, just east of the North Avenue exit in Elmhurst.
Emergency personnel received the 911 call at about 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, and the DuPage County Coroner's office confirmed one male died in the crash.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
