Roselle Woman Leaves 3 Kids Alone at Elmhurst Dunkin's Donuts While She Works at Supermarket: Cops

The woman said she had "no other options," according to police.

A Roselle woman left her three children alone "for hours" in an Elmhurst Dunkin' Donuts while she worked at a nearby Mariano's supermarket, police said.

Al Hallaq Amany, 47, of 686 Daisy Lane was charged with child endangerment for allegedly leaving the children on their own in the North York Street Dunkin' Donuts.

Officers were called to the Dunkin' Donuts about noon Sunday to look into a report of "three children left unattended for hours," police said.

The children were "taken into protective custody and it was learned their mother ... was at work at Mariano's down the street during this time," police said. "She said she had no other options."

Amany was allowed to take the children after a worker from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services interviewed her and visited her home, police said.
