Police Say Another Felon With a Handgun Stopped in Villa Park

Two arrested last week; this time, the suspect flees officers.

For the second time in a week, Villa Park police arrested a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, according to a press release from the Villa Park Police Department.

On Wednesday, July 17, patrol officers stopped a gray Pontiac Grand Prix in the area of Addison and Sunset in Villa Park, just south of North Avenue in Villa Park. The driver, who was identified as Michael H. Jones, refused to exit the vehicle and sped away.

Officers pursued the vehicle for about two blocks, when Jones fled the vehicle on foot and got away, according to police. A handgun and about 3 grams of cocaine was found in the vehicle, police said.
