Girls Followed by Stranger, Juvenile Given 'Candy' That Turned Out to be Drugs

While walking home from school at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2, three girls saw a man following behind them at Poplar and Forest. He continued to follow them down various streets between 3:30 and 4:05 p.m., according to a police report. The man is described as 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, slightly overweight with blonde hair that was balding. He was wearing a purple short-sleeved shirt, faded jeans and gym shoes and was carrying a bag. Police spoke with a suspect who denied being in Elmhurst at that time.

A juvenile told police that he was at a party at his girlfriend's house when someone gave him something that he thought were Skittles candy at 12:42 a.m. Oct. 3. He said they tasted and looked like Skittles, came from a Skittles bag and were red. After he ate them, he said he "felt like flying." It was discovered someone had slipped him several antihistamines.
