If you're musically inclined and you've been around for awhile, you may want to check out one of the grooviest things happening in Elmhurst Thursday. Elmhurst resident Gary Goldberg, front man for The Cave Dwellers, will talk about his career as a young musician, including his band's big break: opening for The Beatles at Comiskey Park in 1965. Goldberg's talk will begin at 7 p.m. at Elmhurst Historical Museum's education center, 120 E. Park Ave. Admission is free. And, be sure to get there early, because the Shutter to Think exhibit will be open in the Glos Mansion from 5 to 7 p.m., and School of Rock's House Band will be performing from 6 to 7 p.m. in the museum's second-floor gallery.

Are you a woman looking for a social club? Then you won't want to miss the Elmhurst Newcomers and Neighbors Club annual kickoff party at 7 p.m. at Café Amano, 105 S. York. You don't have to be a newcoming to go; longtime residents are welcome to come, meet new people and enjoy Marco's delectable hors d'oeurves and deserts.
