The City is not required to give the School or Park district anything. The city is trying to be a good partner and there seems to be a "we want more" attitude on at least the part of the school board.

ReplyDarlene Heslop - you have now gotten your name in the local news a number of times in the past two weeks. Are you trying to raise you name recognition and by doing so position yourself as a better candidate in your next run for public office. If that was your motivation, it has not worked out to well for you now has it.
I feel that you should be responsible for your and reimburse the City and School District for the out of pocket costs incurred as a result of your frivolous conduct.

ReplyWhat did the challenge cost the Taxpayers of Elmhurst. Not only in the real dollars that are paid to the City Attorney but also in terms of time for the Acting Mayor, City Clerk and the Alderman. Thanks Ms. Heslop for increasing, on again, the cost of running local government for the Taxpayers with the frivolous challenge.

ReplyIntresting that tonights topic for the PTSA meeting is Athletics and Activities. Had Rudder did not hand in his resignation I am sure that the feedback from tonights meeting would have been used to terminate him. Masterful move by Ms. Smith. I wonder is she looking outside of York for her next job like she was at the end of last school year.

Doremus - here is meaning of the term from the USGS. The term "100-year flood" is used in an attempt to simplify the definition of a flood that statistically has a 1-percent chance of occurring in any given year. Likewise, the term "100-year storm" is used to define a rainfall event that statistically has this same 1-percent chance of occurring. In other words, over the course of 1 million years, these events would be expected to occur 10,000 times. But, just because it rained 10 inches in one day last year doesn't mean it can't rain 10 inches in one day again this year.
