Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Drug Possession, DUI and Public Intoxication

Police say bar employees partly to blame for over-serving man before his arrest.

Rebecca Brach, 28, 22W021 Second St., Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance after police reported to a domestic dispute at Lake and Grand at 1:11 a.m. March 3. She was taken to the police station. After police inspected the squad car she was riding in, they found a baggie of cocaine on the floor behind the passenger seat. While she was in lockup, she became combative and was charged with battery. She was taken to DuPage County Jail. Kevin Lossow, 27, 202 Columbia, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after police saw him stumble along the sidewalk just north of the Schiller parking garage at 12:39 a.m. Feb. 28. Elmhurst Man Arrested After Woman Gets Tons of Calls for Phony Craigslist Ad Soliciting Sex

Also, men arrested for being drunk at Elmhurst Public Library and for being drunk in the snow on Berteau.

John Thompson, 61, 703 W. Liberty St., Wheaton, was arrested and charged with loud and boisterous disturbance, use of abusive or obscene language, public intoxication and possession of open alcohol on public property after police said he refused to leave Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave., at 4:10 p.m. Feb. 9. Police said he was being belligerent and argumentative with library security and patrons. He was released on I-bond and served a no-trespass order. Three Teens Arrested for Battery at York High School

Several teens are accused of beating a girl at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road, at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6. The victim told police she was approached by three girls, ages 14, 16 and 17, while she was standing outside near the bus lanes at the school. The offenders asked her if she "thinks she's tough," police said. One of them punched the victim in the fact, then all three began punching and kicking her. When the victim's father arrived, the three offenders fled southbound on Berkley. They all were charged with battery and released to their parents. Charlene F. Radecki, 59, 703 W. UPDATE: The two counts against Scarlett Pucci were dismissed and her case was amended to a "disorderly conduct" charge, according to documents provided to Elmhurst Patch. Kenneth Bednar, 55, 697 S. York Road, and Jill Bednar, 54, of the same address, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they allegedly exposed themselves in the front window of their home at 3:24 p.m. Nov. 17. They were both released on I-bond. Police pulled over a blue Suzuki Forenza driven by Marcel J. Geanes, 22, 1649 W. DUI Driver Crashes Into a Light Pole, Injures Her Two Passengers

Elmhurst police report instances of DUI, domestic battery and public intoxication Sept. 12-16.

Adriana Viscosi, 21, 1N253 Forest, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after her gray Chevrolet Trailblazer struck a light pole at Roosevelt and York at 3:59 a.m. Sept. 12. She also was charged with improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Two passengers in the vehicle were injured and taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Police Blotter: Homeowner Witnesses Man Without Pants Defecating on His Porch

Police said another intoxicated man "covered in mud and leaves" was found walking in the street at about 7 a.m.

Elmhurst police reported two arrests for public intoxication on Sunday, Aug. 5. Police arrested a man whose name they did not release and charged him with public intoxication after he defecated on the front porch of an undisclosed residence at 9:07 a.m. Aug. 5. Police received a call for a suspicious person not wearing pants, and they found the subject lying in the fetal position with no pants on. The complainant told police the man had no pants on from the moment he saw him on his porch; he also witnessed him defecating. The man was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital by medics due to his "high level of intoxication." Women Suffer 'Blackouts,' Illness After Man Buys Them Beer, Alleged Gang Members Cited at Cemetery

Suspicious Circumstances A woman told police she was celebrating her 21st birthday at Fitz's Pub, 172 N. Addison, when she met a man who tried to get her to leave with him several times between 11 p.m. April 12 and 1 a.m. April 13. At last call, the man offered to buy her a beer. She accepted and followed him to the bar. She and her friend quickly finished the beer because the bar was closing. She walked outside and said she blacked out and does not remember anything that happened after leaving the bar. She was sick for two days and assumed it was from drinking, until her friend who shared the beer told her she also had blacked out and had the same symptoms. Aggravated Assault, Public Urination and a 15-year-old Driving at 2 a.m. Among Incidents Reported by Police

Battery A man was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital after police pulled over a vehicle for speeding at 10:13 a.m. Aug. 15 at 260 N. York Road.  The driver said she was taking the man to the hospital, and police called medics to check on the offender. When the medic asked the man what was bothering him, he slammed the vehicle door on the medic, striking his right shoulder and back. When police attempted to place him in custody, he became combative. Police are expected file charges for battery, aggravated assault and resisting a peace officer upon his release from the hospital.
