Police involved in a drug investigation were in contact with Alwan, who reportedly agreed to deliver cocaine to the area of York and Grand, police said. An ongoing drug investigation led by the Elmhurst police has resulted in the arrest of Elmhurst resident Brandon J. Biggs, 23, of 269 W. Kimbell, according to press release issued Friday by police. Charges of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a Class 2 Felony, possession of cannabis/candy with the intent to deliver, also a Class 2 Felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed Jan. 11 in DuPage County court. Ongoing police investigations into the sale and distribution of illegal drugs in Elmhurst continue to net arrests.
Elmhurst police have released details about the recent arrest of an Elmhurst man for drug dealing. An ongoing investigation led Elmhurst police to the arrest of Nathan E. Fernandez, 20, of 299 W. First St. Police said Fernandez was selling cannabis and other suspected narcotics from his Elmhurst home to college-age students. On Wednesday, Jan. 2, Elmhurst police executed a search warrant at his home and recovered more than 270 grams of cannabis, Adderall pills, drug paraphernalia, several fraudulent identification cards and "a substantial amount of cash." Stop on Berteau happened after a chase in the early morning hours Friday.
A Country Club Hills man, who allegedly was carrying drugs and a loaded weapon while fleeing state police, was apprehended with the help of Elmhurst police at 2:34 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Elmhurst police received an Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network alert that a vehicle driven by Edward L. Strong, 40, 17468 Park Lane, Country Club Hills, was headed into Elmhurst. Elmhurst police assisted state police in stopping the vehicle at 131 N. Berteau Ave. Strong reportedly resisted arrested while he was being taken into custody. Four arrest this month for possession with intent to deliver.
Elmhurst police have released information about another arrest for possession of drugs with intent to deliver. As a result of an ongoing investigation, Glenn S. Wang, 23, 8429 S. Drake, Skokie, was taken into custody while in the act of delivering 3.1 grams of cocaine at 9:37 p.m. Oct. 25 at 630 W. Lake St., police said. (A mug shot of Wang was not immediately available.) Police said .7 grams of cannabis also was found inside his gray Lexus LS 250. He was charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis. Incidents reported in the Elmhurst police blotter Oct. 1-3.
Police made an arrest at 8 p.m. Oct. 3 during an alleged narcotics transaction at 642 N. York Road. Charles J. Stainback, 28, 510 Hyde Park, Bellwood, and Ray L. Young, 28, 344 Morris, Bellwood, were taken into custody while they allegedly were delivering seven bags of heroin for $100, police said. Both suspects were charged with delivery of a controlled substance. Stainback also was charged with obstructing justice. They were taken to DuPage County Jail and their black Buick Regal was seized for forfeiture. (A mugshot of Young was not immediately available.) Elmhurst police officers discovered almost 10 pounds of suspected cannabis and nearly $70,000 in cash in a south Elmhurst home July 17. Police also found drug paraphernalia and a switchblade knife during their investigation. Charged in the case are the residents of the home at 282 Oneida. Leonard W.
