Man Creating Flood Waves Gets Sandwich Thrown in His Face

Elmhurst police also report arrests for cannabis, attempted burglary, road rage, battery and more.

A man driving down a flooded street at 10:30 a.m. April 18 said another man got in front of his vehicle and began banging on it. He then reportedly opened the passenger door and threw a sandwich at the driver, hitting him in the face, and began scooping water from the street into the victim's vehicle with his arms. Police contacted the suspect, who told them the truck was causing waves to go into his yard, causing worse flooding inside his home. He admitted to throwing the sandwich and filling the vehicle with water. No charges were filed. James J. Police Say Man Refused to Provide Information to Medics Trying to Treat Overdose Victim

Also, woman finds food and feces all around her property, and two women about the same age with the same first name charged with resisting arrest.

Justin Chambers, 22, 10432 W. Dickens, Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer after police responded to the 200 block of East Grantley and discovered a victim who had overdosed at 9:14 p.m. April 3. Police said Chambers, who was holding the victim up, refused to tell police and medics anything about the overdose so they could treat the victim. He was released on bond. Heroin Found in Candy Box, Arrest for DUI and Alleged Pot Smoking at the Waverton

Elmhurst police incidents reported on Thursday, March 28.

Elmhurst police, responding to a call for a suspicious item on the 400 block of Berteau, found a black flip phone and four small, clear plastic baggies containing a white powdery substance inside a red candy box. The substance field-tested positive for heroin. The cell phone was broken and out of minutes; police contacted the cell provider and is awaiting information about the owner. Oak Park Man Charged with Dealing Cocaine After Arrest in North Elmhurst

Men tracked down by Elmhurst police during drug investigation.

An ongoing drug investigation led Elmhurst police to arrest two men Tuesday night, and one of them had enough cocaine on him to be charged with drug dealing, police said. Police stopped Russell Riddiford, 33, 809 S. Maple, Oak Park, and Nathan Panasky, 20, 2502 S. Oak Park, Berwyn, in their black Oldsmobile Alero at York and Crestview at 10:35 p.m. March 19. Police said Riddiford was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bond. His next court date is April 4. Panasky also was charged with possession of cannabis. He was released on bond. Elmhurst Police Wrap Up Enhanced DUI Campaign with Multiple Arrests

Arrests for DUI, cannabis and other crimes reported March 15-18.

A number of arrests for drunken driving and drug possession were made during the end of a stepped-up DUI enforcement campaign that ended on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Elmhurst police received a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation to put extra officers on the streets to crack down on DUI and seat belt violations. The enforcement campaign began March 8, and particular attention was paid to the hours between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., which is the deadliest time on Illinois roads. Elmhurst Man Arrested, Charged with Drug Dealing

Ongoing police investigations into the sale and distribution of illegal drugs in Elmhurst continue to net arrests.

Elmhurst police have released details about the recent arrest of an Elmhurst man for drug dealing. An ongoing investigation led Elmhurst police to the arrest of Nathan E. Fernandez, 20, of 299 W. First St. Police said Fernandez was selling cannabis and other suspected narcotics from his Elmhurst home to college-age students. On Wednesday, Jan. 2, Elmhurst police executed a search warrant at his home and recovered more than 270 grams of cannabis, Adderall pills, drug paraphernalia, several fraudulent identification cards and "a substantial amount of cash." Police Use Taser on Suspect They Say Was Combative

Police said a combative offender had to be tased during an incident at 4:57 a.m. Dec. 31 at North Avenue and Interstate 290. Elmhurst police were assisting Illinois State Police when a male subject was resisting and "being combative" with state troopers, police said. Officers informed the suspect that if he continued to fight, he would be tased. He continued to act aggressively, so the officer "drive-stunned the subject in the upper right ham string."
