Three Men Taken to County Jail on Warrants Thursday

Jesse A. Smetters, 29, 443 Maple, Wood Dale, and Adam S. Blair, 23, 504 E. Park Ave., Villa Park, taken to DuPage County Jail after police pulled over the black Buick Regal they were riding in for speeding at Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 4:11 p.m. April 25. Smetters was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for a DUI charge out of DuPage County, and Blair was found to have three warrants out of DuPage and Wood Dale related to drug possession and other charges. William Shelby, 28, 6 N. Fernwood Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested on a no-bond warrant out of Woodridge for domestic battery after police pulled over his red Chevrolet Impala for no seat belt at York and Lake at 7:09 p.m. April 25. Police Say Tuesday Wasn't the First Time Wheaton Man was Arrested for DUI

Also, police allegedly find drugs in vehicle of man arrested on warrant.

Michael Brady, 30, 1606 Stonebridge Trail, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance after the gray Acura TL he was driving was involved in an accident with a vehicle drivin by a 24-year-old Villa Park man at Route 83 and North Avenue at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 12. Police said Brady, who had previous arrests for DUI, also was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken to Elmhurst hospital, then to DuPage County Jail. His vehicle was towed for forfeiture. Robert J. Police Say Elmhurst Woman Drove Drunk With Her 9-year-old in the Car

Lisa Lofendo, 43, 268 Niagara, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the life of a child and illegal transportation of alcohol after she was stopped at 11:13 p.m. Jan. 15. Police said the arrest followed a domestic disturbance on the 400 block of North Walnut. She reportedly admitted to drinking "before and while driving her 9-year-old son," according to the police report. She was released on bond. Nicole M. Calabria, 33, 918 Norwood, Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with battery at 5 p.m. Jan. 16 after she allegedly approached a woman who was working out at X-Sport Fitness, 633 W. Giovanni Ochoa, 35, 110 Oak Leaf, Addison, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said he crashed his black Harley-Davidson 883 at Madison and Swain at 12:41 a.m. July 14. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for his injuries and later released on I-bond. Elmhurst Police Find Needles and Drugs in Garage 'Bedroom'

Police also report repeated solicitor violations.

DuPage County probation officers who were conducting a well-being check found a subject living in a garage at an undisclosed address at 4:01 p.m. June 20. Police said the man in the garage was slurring his words and groggy. He reportedly told police his landlord asked him to leave the room he was renting inside the home and move to the garage. Police found several prescription medications, hypodermic needles and a smoking pipe. The Zoning Department was notified and the subject was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Mario T. Women Suffer 'Blackouts,' Illness After Man Buys Them Beer, Alleged Gang Members Cited at Cemetery

Suspicious Circumstances A woman told police she was celebrating her 21st birthday at Fitz's Pub, 172 N. Addison, when she met a man who tried to get her to leave with him several times between 11 p.m. April 12 and 1 a.m. April 13. At last call, the man offered to buy her a beer. She accepted and followed him to the bar. She and her friend quickly finished the beer because the bar was closing. She walked outside and said she blacked out and does not remember anything that happened after leaving the bar. She was sick for two days and assumed it was from drinking, until her friend who shared the beer told her she also had blacked out and had the same symptoms. Neighbor Dispute Two neighbors, address not given, told police they have had an ongoing dispute for 10 years. On March 20, the suspect started his lawn mower, set it outside the complainant's window, tied the throttle open, got in his vehicle and left. When police asked the suspect why he did that, he said he did not like his neighbors "because they are nuts."
