OMG PD: Underage Drinking, Eggs on Us, Ticket Toss

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

BATAVIA A 20-year-old North Auroran and a 19-year-old Batavian were each issued complaints for unlawful consumption of an alcoholic liquor. An officer made the arrests at 2:12 a.m. on Feb. 21, according to a police report. Jason R. Leannah, of the first block of Grace Street, North Aurora, was speeding more than 40 mph over the limit. He posted his driver's license for bond for the speeding offense. Philip R.C. Vermaas, of the 800 block of North Forest Avenue, Batavia, was issued a notice to appear in court for failure to wear a seat belt, according to the police report. Leannah and Vermaas were each released on personal recognizance for their individual drinking offenses. They were each given March 19 court dates for all charges. ST. …

OMG PD: Indecent and Intoxicated, Condom Mischief

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

NAPERVILLE A woman reported on Feb. 5 that someone had placed a used condom on her apartment door handle in the 200 block of East Bailey Road, police said. GLEN ELLYN Michael P. Dieterle, 20, of the 1300 block of East Elm Street, Wheaton, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. Jan. 27 in the 300 block of Alder Lane, police said. He was charged with public intoxication, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and public indecency. ST. CHARLES Steven J. Michalak, 42, of the 5N200 block of Hanson Road, called police at 12:24 a.m. Jan. 31 to request assistance. He was at XSport Fitness, 238 N. Randall Road, and the locks to his car doors had frozen. Police showed up within minutes to offer their help. They had to verify that Michalak indeed was the owner…

OMG PD: Stiletto Smackdown, Underage Drinking, Trailer Traipse

NAPERVILLE Two people were arrested early Jan. 27 after a brawl broke out inside a downtown Naperville bar, in which a stiletto shoe was used as a weapon, the Naperville Police Department said. Kenneth S. Davis, 21, of the 500 block of Donna Avenue in Aurora and Jessica M. Manchur, 27, of the 600 block of Grove Drive in Elk Grove Village, were charged with fighting, prohibited under a city ordinance, police said. Officers responded to a fight in progress on the second floor at Rizzo's bar, 6 W. Jefferson Ave., around 12:44 a.m. Jan. 27. As a result of the fight, one man was transported to the hospital after suffering facial lacerations. An employee was also injured after being "intentionally hit in the face by a stiletto style shoe," …

New Underage Drinking Law Cracks Down on Parents

DUI attorney says the law goes too far.

A law taking effect Jan. 1 will crack down on parents who allow minors to drink anywhere on their property, expanding on the current law that specifies it is illegal to let minors drink at their home.  The expanded law makes it a misdemeanor carrying a $500 fine for any adult to knowingly permit minors under the age of 21 to drink alcohol on their property or in their home. If the violation results in bodily harm or death, the adult will be charged with a felony. The provision also strikes the requirement that the person in the home knows about the underage drinking activity. Further, a parent or guardian who knowingly allows a minor to use their property in a way that violates the act's prohibited sales and possession provisions is guilty…

Girl Taken to Hospital After Underage Drinking Party

Hosting an Underage Party Samantha Slocum, 18, 112 Elmwood Terrace, Elmhurst, was cited for hosting an underage drinking party at her home at 12:44 a.m. March 29. Medics were called to the home to assist an 18-year-old girl who was highly intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was taken to the hospital, and later released to her father. School Buses Damaged Someone broke rear-view mirrors on two activity buses and smashed out the rear emergency door glass on one of those buses at Churchville Middle School, 155 Victory Parkway, between 3 p.m. March 28 and 9 a.m. March 29. DUI Arrests Felix Hernandez-Casti, 35, 956 Caprei, Palatine, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after his gold Ford Windstar crashed into a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old Itasca man at North Avenue and Route 83 at 11:46 a.m. March 7. Hernandez-Casti also was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license, no insurance and open alcohol in the vehicle. Live Ammo and Alcohol Bottles Found at Elm Lawn

Also, Elmhurst resident in crash with a man allegedly driving on drugs, and teen picks up sister at the police station with alcohol on her breath.

Elmhurst police were sent to Elm Lawn Cemetery, 400 E. Lake St., at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 27 after someone reported that they found some suspicious items. Three live rounds of ammunition, 13 empty shell casings and empty bottles of alcohol were found around a grave site that police said belongs to a recently deceased gang member. DUI Arrest Peter Noe, 21, 303 Berteau, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving without a license and driving without insurance after he was involved in a crash with a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Anthony Gordon, of 1022 S. 10th Ave., Maywood. Alcohol Leads to Multiple Arrests in Elmhurst Over the Weekend

Roadside safety check results in several DUIs, and Elmhurst College students celebrate the start of school with drinking citations.

Aggravated DUI Tony R. Jones, 44, no address given, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses after police stopped his silver Chevy Impala at 3:42 a.m. Aug. 27 at Route 83 and North Avenue. Police saw Jones violate a red light at the intersection. They discovered his drivers license had been suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol, that he was wanted out of Boone County for DUI and that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the arrest. Open liquor and cannabis were found in the vehicle, police said. Elvis Offers Up a Fake ID and Several Alcohol Incidents Reported

The following arrest information was supplied by the Elmhurst Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Warrant Arrest Elvis Lopez, 22, 345 Mason, Bensenville, was arrested after police pulled over his tan Nissan Quest for failure to obey a traffic light at Route 83 and North Avenue at 5:40 a.m. Aug. 22. Lopez was charged with presenting officers with a fake ID, obstructing identification, driving with a suspended license and signal violation. He was taken to DuPage County Jail after police discovered he had two outstanding warrants. A passenger in the car, Eswin Zacarias, 27, of the same address, was arrested and processed "to determine identity," according to the police report. Fight at Riley's Ends in Two Arrests

Battery Arrest Two people were arrested after a fight at Riley’s, 590 S. York Road, at 12:57 a.m. Aug. 7. Police were told that while employees were trying to clear the bar for closing, Tomasz R. Wiatrak, 27, 1540 President St., Glendale Heights, got upset because he did not want to leave the bar. He allegedly threw a plastic cigarette pot at the window of the business, it bounced off the window and broke a plastic chair. The employee also said that while he was trying to get Wiatrak outside the bar, Agnieszka E.
