Elmhurst police report incidents of anger taken too far.
A customer at the Mobil Gas station, 1000 N. York Road, became upset after an employee asked him if he wanted the blue or green pack of cigarettes at 8:41 p.m. Nov. 9. The offender started swearing at the employee and poked him in the eye after the employee took the cigarettes back. The employee pressed the lock button under the counter, but the offender eventually got out, police said. The offender is a regular at the station. Surveillance video shows the incident. Police are investigating an incident involving a former employee of Burger King, 620 W. North Ave., that occurred at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 3. The employee was upset that a manager told her to clean the dishes, so she reportedly put a chemical dish sanitizer in the manager's soft drink…
Items reported stolen include cash, tools, cell phone and an $8,000, 53-foot trailer.
Threats Made A man between 30 and 35 years old, about 5-foot-4, 160 pounds with short black hair and a thin mustache threatened an employee of a bar on the 600 block of West Lake Street at 12:52 p.m. May 17. The suspect came into the bar and was making small talk with the waitresses. He was asked to leave if he wasn't going to order anything. He left, then came back with a bouquet of flowers he said was for the "waitress with the short blonde hair." He was told no one works there with short blonde hair and he was asked again to leave. The suspect said "How would you like it if I came back and murdered you?" He left in a silver car. If he returns, he will be issued a no-trespass order.
