Need Some Laughs This Weekend? Head to Chicago for SketchFest!

Office of Homeland Obscurity performed last weekend, and they'll join the rest of York High School's Sketch Comedy Troupe, S-Cubed, this Sunday for more fun at Sketchfest in Chicago.

York High School's Sketch Comedy group, S-Cubed, will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at SketchFest 2013, at Stage 773 in Chicago's Lake View neighborhood. Department of Homeland Obscurity, featuring York's Clark Pavlik, Ryan Doyle, Dan Sonenberg and Colin MacGregor, performed their act last Sunday, Jan. 6, at SketchFest, along with Just Bust a Move, featuring Kirsten Mose, Michelina Boehmer and Lizzie Rudakas. (Check out a little DOHO in the attached video.) They'll be joining the rest of the York crew, a total of about 20 clever kids, this weekend for the S-Cubed performance. Looking for Something Cool to Do? York Students Will Cure Your Post-Holiday Blues

Catch JBAM and the rest of the York Sketch Comedy Troupe at Stage 773 in Chicago beginning Sunday.

When the Christmas decorations are put away and the merriment of the season is just a memory, what are we to do during the dreary month of January to keep our spirits up? Fortunately, there is a group of York High School kids who make comedy their business, and they want to share the laughs with you. This weekend kicked off the 12th annual SketchFest at Stage 773 in Chicago's avant garde Lake View neighborhood. The fest started on Jan. 3 and goes through Jan. 13, and our own York kids will take the stage Sundays, Jan. 6 and 13. Just Bust a Move is a comedy troupe of three York girls who have made quite a name for themselves locally, through their five-week, sold-out run at the Sky Box Theatre at Second City and a must-see video they …

York Comedy Troupe Hits the Big City

From the fresh young minds of teenagers, a little levity.

Where can York High School kids go to poke fun at their classes—and anything else, for that matter—without fear of retribution? Where can they let their hair down and get a little racy outside the confines of their school building? Last weekend, they went all the way to the North Shore, to the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago and a little black box theater inside a place called Stage 773. This area of the city, at Belmont and Racine, is full of theaters and avant garde shops and restaurants. That's where the kids of York's Sketch Comedy Troupe, along with dozens of other teen and adult comedy players, exercised their funny bones at the 11th annual SketchFest.
