Milling Finishes 27th in Foot Locker National Race

York senior traveled to San Diego for cross country championships.

York High School senior Scott Milling followed a ninth-place regional finish in the Foot Locker Cross Coutry Championships with a top-30 mark in Saturday's National Final. Competing in San Diego, Milling clocked a time of 15:53 to take 27th among the field of 40 runners from around the country. Milling posted a 15:10 to place ninth in the Midwest Regional on Nov. 24 in Kenosha, Wis. "It went pretty well. My goal was not to go out too hard the first mile and then just to pick off as many guys as I could," Milling said afterward on the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships website. York's Scott Milling Finishes in the Top 10 at Foot Locker Cross Country Regionals

Milling is now qualified for Nationals in San Diego Dec. 8.

Helping lead the York High School Boys Cross Country Team to its 28th state championship was just the beginning for York senior Scott Milling. He kept on running, all the way to a ninth-place finish at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championship Midwest Regionals Saturday, Nov. 24, in Kenosha, Wisc. Race conditions were good on the 5,000-meter course, but the temperature hovered in the mid-20s under cloudy skies. Milling's Top 10 finish earned him an invitation to the National Finals in San Diego. The top 10 boys and the top 10 girls in the seeded Midwest Regionals qualified to compete against runners from the Northeast, South and West Regional meets in the Foot Locker Nationals Dec. 8.
