A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with retail theft at Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 4:34 p.m. March 21. Officers said they saw him in the store stealing food and concealing it in his backpack. They stopped him when he attempted to leave the store, and he resisted being hand-cuffed. Police said he also was in possession of stolen gym shoes from Kmart, 265 S. Route 83. He was released to his parent. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the subject was being watched by a private investigator hired by his ex-wife. A Stihl brick-cutting saw worth $500 was taken out of the trunk of a Toyota Corolla while the victim was doing brick work on a home on the 200 block of East Madison between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. March 4. A police officer interviewed all the victim's employees and searched all of their vehicles, and he found the saw in the trunk of a vehicle belonging to an employee.
