Nearly 10,000 Elmhurst Residents Still Without Power as of Monday Morning
Elmhurst Public Library, Elmhurst College and Park District facilities closed due to continued outages.
The City of Elmhurst has released an update on the progress being made on storm cleanup and power outages. As of 9 a.m., 9,900 customers in Elmhurst still are without power, according to representatives from the city. That's down from a total of 12,000 in the wake of Sunday's storm. Tree limbs still are pulling on power lines, and crews have been working around the clock. The city announced that full restoration of Elmhurst customers will take two to three days. Customers, if they haven't already done so, should report their outage directly to ComEd by calling (800) 334-7661. The city also is advising residents to use caution when operating a generator.
