With very heavy hearts we say good-bye to Russell J. Winkler, who left this world suddenly on Dec. 22, 2012. Russell was born on Aug. 2, 1967, in Elmhurst to Judith M. Winkler and Roger J. Winkler. He graduated from York Community High School in 1986. Russell was a loving father and had a heart filled with an immense amount of joy and pride for his two children, Andreana and Taylor. Anything they took an interest in, he was always there to cheer them on. Russell was the life of the party and brought a smile to everyone’s face when he was around. A devoted sports fan, he never missed the chance to cheer on the Bears, Sox, and especially the Blackhawks. He enjoyed days out on his boat and always wanted to have fun. Some of his many loves …

Shirley Webb, 84, formerly of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully with her children by her side Friday, Nov. 30. Shirley attended University of Illinois prior to becoming a professional bowler and winning the national title. After a long and enduring courtship, she married Chuck. They started their family in Hartford City, Ind., before moving to Elmhurst in 1969. Although her devotion was to her family, Shirley followed her passion to a floral career with Pfund & Clint. There was a continuous revolving door for friends and family, not only in their Elmhurst home but at their cottage on Lauderdale Lakes, Wisc., or when on Marco Island, Fla.
