Much Ado About Parking in Elmhurst
Elmhurst's overall parking policies come into question, but for now, how about that new Larch deck?
It would seem the addition of a brand new parking deck in the downtown would make life so much simpler. In fact, it has actually complicated things a bit for Elmhurst officials. Some aldermen suggest the addition of the new deck on First Street and Larch Avenue has created the need for a complete restructuring of the city's parking system. Businesses on the south side of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks were promised that their employees and customers would be privy to some south-side parking as development progressed there and new businesses opened. Have you noticed that the Elmhurst politicians are always forming committees to recommend policy in an effort to dilute any responsibilty to themselves for making a bad decisions. "Alderman Paula Pezza said she can't understand why someone couldn't park in the Larch garage and walk a block to work."
