Obituary

Death Notice: Henrietta Millner, 93, Mother of Former Elmhurst Police Chief

A memorial service will be held Jan. 19 in Forest Park.

Henrietta Millner (nee Simon), 93, of Arizona died in Camarillo, Calif., Dec. 28. Mrs. Millner was the mother of three children, Janet Schuette, Nancy (Richard) Schukat and Illinois Sen. John J. Millner (R-Carol Stream), who also was Elmhurst police chief from 1986-2003. She also was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at St. John Lutheran Church, 305 Circle Ave., Forest Park. A private interment will follow. New Law Provides Penalties for Predators who Attempt to Lure Older Kids

Until now, only such crimes against kids younger than 16 were punishable.

Editor's Note: The following information was provided by the Illinois Senate Republican staff. Just in time for a new school year, Gov. Pat Quinn signed school safety legislation sponsored by State Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale).   Introduced at the recommendation of DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, House Bill 5265 (P.A. 97-0998) allows for the felony prosecution of people who attempt to lure older children into their vehicle while the child is traveling to or from school. Dillard said that the new law was co-sponsored by his colleague Sen. John Millner (R-Carol Stream), who previously served as the Elmhurst police chief.
