Three Men Taken to County Jail on Warrants Thursday

Jesse A. Smetters, 29, 443 Maple, Wood Dale, and Adam S. Blair, 23, 504 E. Park Ave., Villa Park, taken to DuPage County Jail after police pulled over the black Buick Regal they were riding in for speeding at Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 4:11 p.m. April 25. Smetters was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for a DUI charge out of DuPage County, and Blair was found to have three warrants out of DuPage and Wood Dale related to drug possession and other charges. William Shelby, 28, 6 N. Fernwood Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested on a no-bond warrant out of Woodridge for domestic battery after police pulled over his red Chevrolet Impala for no seat belt at York and Lake at 7:09 p.m. April 25. Applicant for Massage Therapist Position Ends Up With No-trespass Order

The owner of Body & Soul Spa, 381 N. York Road, called police after a job applicant began acting irratically. The owner interviewed the offender for a massage therapist position Feb. 11. The woman subsequently called the owner twice, leaving voicemails demanding that a contract be sent to her for employment. When the owner told her she would not be hired, the offender became very upset and used profanity, police said. She was advised to have no further contact with the business and was issued a no-trespass order. Elmhurst Residents Charged with Computer Tampering, Harassment Through Electronic Means

Photos of female victims were posted online without their consent, police said.

Three men have been arrested following an investigation into numerous cases of computer tampering and electronic harassment, according to an Oct. 9 press release from the Elmhurst Police Department. Police launched an investigation based on reports of numerous email and online photo storage accounts being accessed without the owners' consent. Police said photographs of numerous female victims were posted to a website without the victims' knowledge or consent. The following Elmhurst residents were arrested: All three were released on bond. Elmhurst police remind residents to keep online accounts secure by using strong account passwords, and to not post information on social websites that would assist criminals in resetting account passwords…

Police Blotter: Employee Harasses Former Employer

A former employee of AIM National Leasing, 782 Industrial Drive, has been harassing the company's employees and customers, according to police. The employee was fired from AIM four years ago and has been harassing the company off and on since then. The most recent harassment began Sept. 10 and continue through Sept. 19. Two men entered US Cellular, 629 W. North Ave., at 7:50 p.m. Sept. 27. One asked to use the bathroom, and an employee saw the other place a Samsung Galaxy phone into his pants. The employee told him to return it or he would call the police. The man returned the phone and both suspects left the store, but the employee later discovered a $700 Samsung Galaxy S III was missing from the display rack. Police will review the …

Crashes Involve DUI, Woman Called in for Child Abuse and Scammer Threatens to Blow Up House

Walter Alonzo, 19, 118 Bridget Apt. GB, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after his green Ford Windstar allegedly crashed into a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Naperville man at 956 N. York at 9:56 p.m. Sept. 21. Alonzo fled the scene, police said. He also was charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance, leaving the scene of an accident and consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was released on I-bond. Man is Accused of Harassing Woman He Wanted as His Character Witness in Court

A man who is going through a divorce asked a former friend of his family to be his character reference during his child custody proceedings. The former friend declined, saying she does not want to be involved in his divorce. But police said the suspect will not take no for an answer and continues to call and harass her over the issue. The woman filed a police report for harassment on July 20. A resident of the 700 block of South Swain told police that her ex-boyfriend had come to her home without permission at 11 a.m. July 21. She has not had any contact with him in three years because he has been in jail, police said. She also has received several suspicious phone calls over the past week. Police Say Job Applicant Made Potential Employer Feel 'Uncomfortable'

No-trespass order was issued to the job applicant.

A woman who had applied for a job at Anderson Pest Control, 501 W. Lake St. Suite 204, went to the business and demanded to know about the status of her job application at 11:20 a.m. July 18. An employee told her she would have to check the status online. Then the woman asked to use one of the computers and moved in close to an employee, making the employee feel "very uncomfortable." The woman then left the building and approached another person in the outside break area and asked to use his cell phone. He told her no. The next day at 12:30 p.m. a staff member told police he did not want the woman on the property or to have contact with any of the employees. Police served her a no-trespass order. Elmhurst Police Report a 'Send Money' Scam and Disturbing Messages

Man told police he receives death threats from churches, so he threatens them back.

An elderly Elmhurst woman received a phone call from an unknown man telling her he was her grandson and needed cash immediately because he had been in an accident and was in the hospital. She knew the phone call was a scam because  he did not know what she called her grandson. The incident was reported at 9:26 a.m. July 3. A receptionist at Lexington HealthCare, 420 W. Butterfield Road, told police a man called seven to 10 times at around 7:30 a.m. July 16 and made obscene comments, including "My private parts are under water." A woman told police she was parked in a lot on the 400 block of West Butterfield at 5:40 a.m. July 14 when a gray Ford truck pulled in, circled the lot, then pulled so close to her into a parking space that she …

Unknown Caller Threatens to Kill Woman, Fire on Deck Likely Started with Cigarette

Police also continue cracking down on solicitors.

A woman who lives on the 300 block of Huntington Lane told police she received four phone calls on her cell phone at 9:33 p.m. June 25 from an unknown man who whispered that he was going to rape her and her children and then kill them. The calls appeared as "restricted." A fire on the attached deck of a home on the 100 block of North Walnut may have been started from a cigarette being thrown into a planter, police said. The fire, which was reported at 3:28 p.m. June 23, was contained to a plastic planter, wood deck and wood siding, and it was extinguished by the Elmhurst Fire Department using a garden hose.
