Wind Chill Advisory Continues Until 10 a.m Tuesday
Wind chills and extremely cold temperatures are expected to stick around for a couple of days.
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a wind chill advisory for DuPage County until 10 a.m. Jan. 22. Wind chill values during the evening and overnight hours Monday were expected to fall to 20 to 25 degrees below zero, and sub-zero wind chills are here to stay until Wednesday. Some snow may arrive later in the week. Such low wind chill values can cause frostbite to skin within 30 minutes of exposure and can lead to hypothermia. Anyone who must venture outdoors during the night is advised to wear a hat and gloves.
