March Home Sales: Elmhurst Market Shows Big Gains; Median Price Rises Slightly

Year-over-year, Elmhurst saw significant growth in the number of homes sold, though the median home price increased only about 6 percent, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 46 homes sold in Elmhurst during March 2013 represented a 64.3 percent increase over March 2012, when 28 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 24 homes sold in Elmhurst during February.  While the number of homes sold increased significantly, the median price of homes sold in March increased slightly in Elmhurst. The median price rose 6.8 percent to $375,500 from $351,500 in March 2012. The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County experienced notable sales gains in March, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data.
