Thanks to Elmhurst's "man on the street," Jake Eleniewski for this video of Elmhurst firefighters putting out a garage fire at 231 W. Armitage Tuesday night. The fire was contained to the garage. The Elmhurst Firefighters LOCAL 3541 will Fill the Boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on three consecutive Fridays, June 3, 10 and 17. With boots in hand, firefighters will stand at the intersections of York Road and North Avenue, York and St. Charles roads, and York and Butterfield roads asking motorists to fill their boots to help local kids and adults with neuromuscular disease. The Elmhurst firefighters have been a vital supporter for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, raising nearly $10,000 last year to help local families living with MD.
