Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for DUI, Domestic Battery and Disorderly Conduct

Information from police reports dated April 26 to 29.

Stephanie Sargent, 27, 59 S. Hale St. Unit 310, Palatine, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her red Ford Escape for driving the wrong way on a one-way street at Schiller and York at 1:48 a.m. April 27. She was released on bond. Desmond Richard, 23, 3301 W. Palmer, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his Volkswagon Jetta for improper lane use at Palmer and Schiller at 2:19 a.m. April 27. Man Creating Flood Waves Gets Sandwich Thrown in His Face

Elmhurst police also report arrests for cannabis, attempted burglary, road rage, battery and more.

A man driving down a flooded street at 10:30 a.m. April 18 said another man got in front of his vehicle and began banging on it. He then reportedly opened the passenger door and threw a sandwich at the driver, hitting him in the face, and began scooping water from the street into the victim's vehicle with his arms. Police contacted the suspect, who told them the truck was causing waves to go into his yard, causing worse flooding inside his home. He admitted to throwing the sandwich and filling the vehicle with water. No charges were filed. James J. Stilling Jr., 62, 149 Columbia, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect, at 10:50 a.m. April 5. A library …

Heroin Found in Candy Box, Arrest for DUI and Alleged Pot Smoking at the Waverton

Elmhurst police incidents reported on Thursday, March 28.

Elmhurst police, responding to a call for a suspicious item on the 400 block of Berteau, found a black flip phone and four small, clear plastic baggies containing a white powdery substance inside a red candy box. The substance field-tested positive for heroin. The cell phone was broken and out of minutes; police contacted the cell provider and is awaiting information about the owner. Police Say Man Arrested in Elmhurst Had Multiple DUIs

Elmhurst police report weekend arrests for drunken driving.

Alejandro Aguilar, 33, 1235 S. Austin Ave., Cicero, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving with a license revoked for DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over his tan Honda Odyssey for improper lane use at Interstate 290 and North Avenue at 2:20 a.m. March 24. He also was charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bond. His vehicle was towed for forfeiture. Elmhurst Police Wrap Up Enhanced DUI Campaign with Multiple Arrests

Arrests for DUI, cannabis and other crimes reported March 15-18.

A number of arrests for drunken driving and drug possession were made during the end of a stepped-up DUI enforcement campaign that ended on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Elmhurst police received a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation to put extra officers on the streets to crack down on DUI and seat belt violations. The enforcement campaign began March 8, and particular attention was paid to the hours between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., which is the deadliest time on Illinois roads. Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Heroin, DUI During Stepped-up Enforcement Campaign

More police officers will be on the streets through the enforcement period, which ends after St. Patrick's Day.

Elmhurst police are in the middle of an enhanced DUI enforcement campaign, which will run through Monday, March 18. Police are stepping up patrols through the St. Patrick's Day holiday, especially between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. The following arrests for drug and alcohol offenses were made during the enforcement period. Arturo E. Felix, 28, 307 Hale St. Apt. 1, Addison, is facing multiple charges after he was pulled over by Elmhurst police for a traffic violation at 1:41 a.m. March 9. Police pulled him over for speeding at Lake and West Avenue and reportedly discovered he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Elmhurst Resident Arrested for Domestic Involving a Knife, Schick Hall RA Receives Death Threats

Alexander Jarnig, 23, 186 E. Fullerton, Elmhurst, was arrested after police responded to a call for a domestic battery involving a possible stabbing on the 100 block of East Fullerton at 8:21 p.m. March 6. A victim suffered minor cuts to his hands and was treated at the scene. Jarnig was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. He was taken to DuPage County Jail. Applicant for Massage Therapist Position Ends Up With No-trespass Order

The owner of Body & Soul Spa, 381 N. York Road, called police after a job applicant began acting irratically. The owner interviewed the offender for a massage therapist position Feb. 11. The woman subsequently called the owner twice, leaving voicemails demanding that a contract be sent to her for employment. When the owner told her she would not be hired, the offender became very upset and used profanity, police said. She was advised to have no further contact with the business and was issued a no-trespass order. State Charges of Possession of Cocaine, Drunken Driving Earn Chicago Man Trip to Jail

Elmhurst cops allegedly find him sleeping behind the wheel.

Earl Gist, 55, of 2427 W. Lindale, Chicago, was arrested and charged under state charges with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of alcohol at 2:57 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30. Police reportedly found him sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle at Route 83 and North Avenue. Police said he had two baggies of cocaine and two ecstasy pills in his possession. He also was charged with improper parking on the roadway. He was taken to DuPage County Jail on $2,000 bond. His next court date is March 4, according to the DuPage County Clerk's Office.
