Teens Shoot BBs at Boy, Great Dane Scares Burglar and Suspicious People Lurk in Elmhurst

Attempted Residential Burglary A resident of the 300 block of West Alexander Boulevard told police that a man between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4-inches tall with medium length blond hair wearing jeans, a blue T-shirt and carrying a black backpack attempted to open her rear sliding glass door at 12:02 p.m. May 25. He stopped when the resident’s Great Dane charged at him. He was only able to push the door open 6 inches due to a bar set in place. Suspicious Person Police were called to Field School at 12:42 p.m. May 21 on a report of a man sitting in a white Chevy Impala staring at children while they played. Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Prostitution, DUI, Drugs

Woman backs into police car after being stopped for DUI, and other items from the Elmhurst police blotter.

Prostitution Juanita A. Smith, 25, 14160 Calumet Ave., Dolton, was arrested and charged with prostitution and keeping a place of prostitution at 8:08 p.m. May 12. Police answered Smith’s advertisement at Bacpage.com and set up an appointment for that evening. She confirmed the rate of $200 for an hour, $100 for a half-hour. Police met with Smith at an undisclosed location, and she offered services for cash. DUI Arrests Elda Berrera, 28, 517 Dempster, Mount Prospect, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane use and driving without a license after a traffic stop at 12:26 a.m. May 14 at North Avenue and Clinton Street. Crash With Injuries, Drug Possession and DUI Reported in Elmhurst April 21

Crash with Injuries A 75-year-old Melrose Park man and a 25-year-old Northlake man were taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital after a three-car accident on North Avenue west of Interstate 290 at 9 p.m. April 21. A 16-year-old from Elmhurst, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane use. Drug Possession Brooke A. McCarty, 23,, 29W608 Westchester Circle #4, Warrenville, was arrested  and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine and heroin), aggravated driving with a suspended license, improper use of registration and expired registration after a traffic stop at 3:46 a.m. April 20 at York and Cayuga. Police Report Incidents Involving Drugs, Alcohol and Theft

Possession of Cannabis Issac Nelson Hudson III, 33, 550 W. Grand Ave. #233, Elmhurst, and Billy Dwayne Pierce Jr., 29, 550 W. Grand Ave. #422, Elmhurst, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police responded to complaints that someone was smoking pot at Extended Stay of America, 550 W. Grand Ave., at 10:10 p.m. March 31. Three small bags of cannabis were found. They were released on bond. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Laith M. Al Rousan, 31, 8003 Ferguson, Dallas, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at Route 83 and North Avenue at 4:55 p.m. March 31. Prostitution Arrests Monica Marquez, 29, 2425 E. Riverside, Austin, Texas, was arrested and charged with prostitution at 6 p.m. March 18 after she answered an online ad and agreed to come to the Waverton Hotel, 624 N. York Road, to perform a sex act for money. She was released on bond. Police said Marquez allegedly splits her profits with Erica Franklin, 25, 11117 Bending Bow Trail, Austin. Franklin was charged with pandering and keeping a place of prostitution. She was released on I-bond. Domestic Battery Sean M. Christian, 24, 547 N. Myrtle, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after he reportedly was seen choking and pushing a female near an alley at York and Schiller streets at 12:20 a.m. March 18. Arrests in Elmhurst Include Parole Violation, Drug Possession

Police also report people arrested on warrants and for DUI.

Parole Violation Eric Gross, 32, 475 W. Butterfield Road, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after a parole officer conducted a routine check at his home at 1:23 p.m. March 8. Gross is on parole out of Colorado. He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles. He was taken to DuPage County Jail. Possession of cannabis James A. Sullivan, 18, 866 Colfax, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, failure to dim headlights and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop at Spring and McKinley at 12:26 a.m. March 10. Teen Cited After Allegedly Snorting Xanax in Class

Police responded to York High School.

A 16-year-old boy was issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance March 4. The boy, a student at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road, allegedly told someone at the school that a relative had given him a yellow Xanax pill. He reportedly admitted to grinding up the pill and snorting it during class. Police responded to the school at 9 a.m. March 4 and issued the boy the citation. The teen was released on an I-bond.

Police Report Arrests for Drugs, DUI

Police report nine arrests for DUI and five arrests for drugs between Feb. 21 and 27.

Drug Arrests Anna B. Garcia, 19, 143 E. Grove St., Lombard, was arrested for possession of cannabis and driving without a license after a traffic stop for driving on an unsafe tire at 1:22 a.m. Feb. 21 at York Road and North Avenue. She was released on bond. A passenger in the car, Michelle N. Rubio, 22, 307 Hirsch St., Northlake, was charged with possession of cannabis. She was released on bond. Joneasha L. Snow, 26, 1401 S. Seventh Ave., Maywood, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, failure to yield at a stop intersection and excessive noise after a traffic stop at 7:26 p.m. Feb. 21 at Route 83 and North Avenue. Elmhurst Police Announce Alcohol and Drug Arrests

Two separate hit-and-run accidents lead to DUI arrests, student at York returns from restroom with white powder under her nose, and a young woman is arrested for driving under the influence of heroin.

DUI Arrests Jennifer L. Iaccino, 25, 627 S. Prospect, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper parking on the roadway and no insurance after she was found slumped over the wheel at 209 S. Rex Blvd. at 11:26 p.m. Jan. 27. She was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital after she reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol. She was later charged and released on bond. Thomas F. Guinan, 46, 483 Evergreen, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after a traffic stop for improper lane use and driving on the wrong side of the road at 12:53 a.m. Jan. 28 at York and Elmwood Terrace. DUI Arrests Brendan T. O’Connor, 21, 294 Geneva Ave., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and no insurance after a traffic stop on southbound York at Roosevelt Road at 1:07 a.m. Jan. 27. He was released on bond. Michael D. Dopson, 20, 1510 Northlake #B8, Normal, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after a traffic stop for littering on eastbound Lake Street at Interstate 290 at 9:39 p.m. Jan. 27.
