Domino's Delivery Driver Attacked for His Pizzas

Another man attacked as he left a wedding; both assailants got away.

Strong-arm Robbery A pizza delivery driver was robbed as he attempted to deliver pizzas on the 100 block of South Rex at 10:17 p.m. April 14. The offender, a black man about 20 years old, 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet tall with a medium build and wearing a dark green hoodie, dark winter cap, dark blue jeans and black Nike gym shoes, wrestled with the Domino's Pizza delivery driver and took the "Heat Wave" insulated bag containing two large cheese pizzas. The pizzas were worth $18, and the insulated bag is valued at $90. Police tried to track the suspect with a police dog, but he got away. Suspect Trying to Get Energized Loses Shirt, and Junk Collectors Were Nearby When $240 Stroller Swiped

Police also are investigating the gradual drain of nearly $26,000 from Canteen Corp.

Battery/Retail Theft A security officer at Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, saw a person take an energy drink and two energy bars from the store at 10:54 a.m. April 4. Security brought the offender back inside the store, and a struggle began. The security officer told police he was battered by the offender, whose shirt was ripped off during the struggle. The offender fled on foot. In addition to the shirt, a bicycle was left behind at the scene, and police placed it into evidence. Edward Aydelotte, 19, 115 E. Division, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he allegedly took a $17 bottle of vodka from Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 12:42 p.m. April 4. He was released on bond. Police Report Juvenile Beaten at Crestview, Strong-Arm Robbery on West, and Burglary

Police also report alcohol and drug arrests, and a Northlake man is charged with scavenging without a permit and driving without a license.

Residential Burglary A home on the 600 block of Hillside was burglarized between noon and 2:30 p.m. March 20. The victim said she had locked her doors, but her windows were left open. When she returned home, her laptop as missing from the coffee table in the living room and her Wii Plus system was missing from the basement. The back door was found open and unlocked and the front door was closed and unlocked. Someone pried open a window of a home on the 600 block of North Van Auken Street between 6:15 and 8:45 p.m. March 20. Nothing appeared to be missing. Alcohol Arrests Include Two Underage Drivers, and Baseball Bat Used in Fight

DUI Arrests Evan A. Nutile, 20, 890 Saylor, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with zero tolerance DUI at 12:13 a.m. Feb. 17. Police said Nutile was driving 58 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone right before he crashed his gray BMW into a concrete barrier in Berkley. He was released on I-bond. Lenn W. Budz, 44, 130 George St. Apt. 622, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his gray Lexus LS 460 for improper lane use at York and North at 12:37 a.m. Feb. 17. Battery Arrest Alan P. Chartrand, 49, 771 Longmeadow Court, Carol Stream, was arrested and charged with battery after an incident at Ingersoll-Rand, 131 W. Diversey, at 8 a.m. Feb. 9. He was released on I-bond. Warrant Arrest Larry Bebo, 52, 677 N. Michigan, Elmhurst, turned himself in on warrants out of DuPage and DeKalb counties at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 4 at the police station. He was taken to DuPage County Jail. Burglars Enter Home on Hampshire Through Dog Door

Police also report arrests for DUI, battery and disorderly conduct.

Residential Burglary Someone used the dog door to enter a home on the 400 block of Hampshire between noon and 3:03 p.m. Jan. 27. Bicycle tracks were located near the home and money and jewelry were taken. The front door of a home on the 600 block of North Indiana was tampered with between 1 and 5 p.m. Jan. 27. The victim told police he believed someone tried to break into his house because the the ring around the front door strike plate was loose and the wood was splintered and chipped along the door frame. Lincoln Ave. Apt. 2A, Addison, was arrested and charged with zero tolerance driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her white Cadillac Brougham for speeding and improper right turn at North and Villa avenues at 12:59 a.m. Dec. 24. Battery at PADS John E. Keeler, 45, 703 W. Liberty, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with battery at the PADS shelter at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 S. Spring Road, at 6:11 p.m. Nov. 19. He was released on bond. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Mir Akram Ali, 24, 341 E. Madison, Lombard, was arrested and cited under city ordinance for possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped his vehicle during a roadside safety check at North Avenue and Melrose at 1:07 a.m. Nov. 18. Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Battery, Theft and Trespassing

Battery Joseph M. Mastroni, 56, 1050 S. Riverside Drive, Elmhurst, was arrested at his home and charged with battery after he allegedly pushed a woman down the stairs and caused injury to her face at 5:41 p.m. Nov. 1. He was released on bond. Theft Arrests Police were called to the Waverton Hotel, 624 N. York St., at 3:15 a.m. Nov. 1 for a report of a theft. The victim said two men stole his iPhone and left the scene. The victim called them for his phone but was told he would only get the phone back if he paid the suspect $2,000. After police arrived, the victim convinced the suspects to return to the hotel by saying he would give them $1,400.
