Man Punched in the Face by Robber, and Woman Steals Car From 'Friend' After Night of Partying

Also, $100,000 in refrigerators stolen from Larch Avenue business.

A male was punched in the face after two men asked him for money at Park and Fairlane at 5 p.m. Nov. 3. The victim told police he was approached by a black male about 20 years old with dread locks and a white male about 20 years old with a buzz cut. When he told them he didn't have any money, he was punched and his cell phone stolen, police said. The suspects fled on foot. Jerry Haynes, 33, 233 S. 29th St., Bellwood, was tased by police after he allegedly lunged aggressively at a police officer while "highly intoxicated" on the 400 block of Avery at 6:26 a.m. Nov. 6. Elmhurst Police Report Weekend Arrests for DUI, Assault and Battery

Gonzalo Mendoza, 19, 443 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mundelein, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance after his black GMC Jimmy hit a tree at Richard and East Court at 12:58 a.m. Oct. 5. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and released on bond. Valeria Hernandez, 25, 218 Julia, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over a white Volkswagon for disobeying a traffic control signal at York and First at 12:13 a.m. Oct. 6. Irving Park Road Apt. 2A, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license after police pulled over his silver Kia Sorento for speeding and improper lane use at Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 1:20 a.m. Sept. 4. He also was charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Michael T. Harris, 46, 531 N. Man Accused of Jumping Pizza Delivery Driver Turns Himself In

Elmhurst resident Asante McKinley faces charges of assault and theft.

A man accused of attacking and robbing a Domino's Pizza delivery driver in April has turned himself in, according to a press release issued by Elmhurst Police Chief Dominic Panico on Wednesday. An ongoing investigation led police to Asante R. McKinley, 18, of Elmhurst, who has been charged with theft from a person and assault. At about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, April 14, employees of the Domino's Pizza at 1036 S. York Road took a pizza order for delivery to the 100 block of South Rex Boulevard. At about 10:17 p.m., as the driver attempted to deliver the pizzas, he was approached by a man in the driveway of the residence. The suspect struggled with the driver, then took the bag containing the pizzas and fled on foot. Police said that about one …

Elmhurst Police Seek Leads, Issue a Warning After Attacks

Two children assaulted in Villa Park, and another attacker gets away in a Mercedes.

Elmhurst police are reaching out to the public after two unrelated incidences in recent days. The department is cautioning Elmhurst parents after two middle school children were assaulted by two adult men in Villa Park on Wednesday, March 7. At about 7 p.m., the two students were approached by the two men near Summit and Maple streets and were attacked. "While this event did not occur in our attendance area, we wanted parents to be informed due to the close proximity," a press relese from District 205 stated. Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Battery, Disorderly Conduct

Nineteen crashes were reported to police on Feb. 3 alone, along with a report of an ambulance assist for a person who fell downtown due to hazardous conditions from the snow. Following are non-crash related reports.

Disorderly Conduct Investigation Police are investigating a report of a man with a gun seen in the area of the 900 block of North York Road at 4:58 p.m. Feb. 3. The man was a passenger in a white plumbing truck, and he allegedly got out of the truck and pointed the gun at the victim’s vehicle. Elk Grove Village police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the truck, and the occupants admitted they were involved in a road rage incident, but they were released on the scene because no gun was found. Elmhurst Police Report Assault and Disorderly Conduct Arrests

Glen Ellyn man smashes Portillo's revolving door with a baseball bat, threatens employee with a knife.

Aggravated Assault Luis J. Flores, 20, 19 Briar St. #27, Glen Ellyn, was arrested after an incident at 5:35 p.m. Dec. 17 at Portillo's, 155 W. Route 83. Police said Flores got into an argument with employees of Portillo's over a cheeseburger. He reportedly threatened an employee with a knife, and then smashed the revolving glass door of the restaurant with a baseball bat. He was charged with aggravated assault, driving while license revoked, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and possession of cannabis. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
