City, School and Park Board Candidates Can Pick Up Nominating Packets for April Election
Mayor, seven aldermanic, three school and two park seats are up for election next spring.
Candidate packets for those seeking to run for local office in the April 9, 2013, Consolidated Election are now available. To be eligible to serve, candidates must be a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a registered voter and a resident of the city for at least one year immediately preceding the election. Elections are nonpartisan and board candidates do not indicate a political party affiliation. Candidates should be aware of financial conflict-of-interest limitations set forth in state law. Petitions may be circulated immediately. Candidate filing will take place during business hours Dec. 17 to 24 at the administration office of the city, park or school district.
