How about taking action on all the problems DuPage county already has, and stop wasting time onRead More trying to lure the Cubs here. It's a waste of time on something that has NO chance of happening. C'mon now !!!

Well stated Ed, but the bulk of your posting takes me back 20 years to a gold anniversay party inRead More Muncie, IN an old acquaintance we hadn't seen in years steps up to say hi and then says he'll be right back with his wife. We're talking to another couple for a minute and then the acquaintance returns, we turn around and his wife is african american. One of the couple we'd been speaking to says "Barney, she's black". Barney didn't miss a beat - "She IS??!!?!?!?". So to your point of what the hell do you expect? Maybe we all need to have a few less expectations and just be open to the fact that two people regardless of sex, race, age (within the legal limits set by justice! so back off RG, I'm not advocating pedo), ability, appearance, wealth, talents, intelligence can share a deep abiding love for each other that, with or without another generation involved, makes them better people contributing to a better world.

Greg...I get your point and the being black part is not hitting my point directly. She was stillRead More female and his wife allbeit her race was different. Answer me this...what if another man showed up? Would your friend have introduced as "wife"...? I keep hammering on this issue which is, tell me what you call your partner and I might be able to tell you what you should call your "union"...and it won't be marriage. The word does not work for gay people. Find something else and move on. Again, some of us will love you no matter what...others, never...and that is the reality. It is the pushing for acceptance of their life style by all that they desire and that is why they insist on being "married". It's just not real and doable. I say take what you can get and move on and enjoy your union and life. And, before I get jumped...we do have gay relationship people in our extended family and we think nothing of it!!!

Thank you for posting this! My wife and I have become fervent fans of the seventh grade girlsRead More elmhurst airborne green team this season. While the elmhurst airborne seventh grade girls white team lacks character, success, and true leadershipt; the green have loads of talent and many players with great acumen for the game. I see there is an opening for the elmhurst airborne EIGTH grade girls green team in '13-'14 (I'm looking at you "coach Illini sweatshirt") -wade
