Look What Rolled Over, Again! Mega Millions Climbs to $550 Million

With no tickets matching this past Tuesday's drawing, the Mega Millions game has soared to $550 million.

The bad news: You didn't win the $425 Mega Millions jackpot on Friday.

The good news: No one did, and now everyone has a shot at winning the estimated $550 million jackpot (a very, very slim shot), according to the Illinois Lottery.

The next Mega Millions drawing is 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17. Tickets, which cost $1, can be purchased online ($5 minimum purchase online).

The increased jackpot is the largest jackpot since last year’s $656 million Mega Millions jackpot, which was split between winners in Kansas, Maryland and Redbud, Illinois.

This past October, the Mega Millions jackpot was upgraded to include larger, faster growing jackpots; second-place prizes of at least $1million; and better odds of winning smaller cash prizes, according to the Illinois Lottery.
