We'll Be Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot This Week

We haven't seen the end of brown grass yet.

As Buster Poindexter says, it's getting hot, hot, hot. That may make some want to dance, but the rest of us will be looking for a splashy way to keep cool at Elmhurst's and pools.

Summer weather is in full force this week. According to the National Weather Service, on Monday expect to wake up to clouds and temperatures in the mid-70s, but by early afternoon the high is expected to be 97. Gusty winds up to 45 miles per hour will do little to cool things down. It will remain pretty steamy well into the evening. Chance of rain is 20 percent before 10 a.m.

Tuesday and Wednesday will bring more of the same, with abundant sunshine and highs in the mid-90s. Heat index values will approach 100 degrees.

There may be a slight reprieve later in the week, with high temperatures dipping into the mid-80s Thursday and Friday. A 30 percent chance of rain is forecasted for Thursday.

recently, so hopefully we won't be experiencing any power outages with the extra strain of air conditioners on the system.

Take care, check on the elderly, use sunscreen—and seriously, find a pool.
