July 11 is a Cool Day if You Like Free Slurpees

You have until 7 p.m. today to get in on this tasty freebie.

7-Eleven stores are offering free 7.11-ounce Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 11, to celebrate 7-Eleven Day. It's the store's 85th birthday and the 45th year of the Slurpee.

Every summer since 2002, millions of free Slurpees have been given away on July 11 at about 8,200 stores across the nation.


To keep the party going, 7-Eleven invites customers to play the Big Summer Sweeps’ game pieces found on specially marked products throughout the store. Stop at any of three Elmhurst 7-Eleven locations—, or —through the end of the August to win big prizes like a PepsiMax VIP trip package to the football championship or a BMW Motorbike F800 GS.

You can also find 7-Elevens offering the free tasty treats by downloading the timeRAZOR app for iPhone or Android. Users will also receive an alert letting them know the drive time based on current traffic.

I agree with you but I don't know if we as just citizen's can do anything to stop that practice. IRead More wish that each cyclist had to have a license, and that it was enforced by laws and police, on the bike so that people could report occurrences and have the person receive a ticket just like a person driving an auto. That would make sense.

I was really hoping that the Elmhurst Police would sound in on this info-I do understand kids willRead More be kids, but if one of them is hurt, that adult driver will need to live with that for the rest of their life-so let's come up with a solution for both bicyclist and cars to be in harmony. I really think that a step up in enforcement in the bicycle laws would help-just like the drunk driving laws-believe me the bicycle laws are just as important.
