State Rep. Conroy Promoting Doodle 4 Google Contest

VILLA PARK, Ill. –State Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park) is highlighting Google’s annual Doodle 4 Google program. The Doodle 4 Google program gives K-12 students across the U.S. the chance to have their very own Google doodle showcased on google.com

“As an artist by trade, I value the creative process and its part in the education of the children in our communities.” Conroy said. “Using art to develop a young person’s imagination is just as vital as math and reading skills.”

The nationwide contest will end with one lucky and talented winner having their “doodle” featured on the Google homepage and receiving a $30,000 college scholarship for themselves, plus a $50,000 technology grant for his or her school.

This year’s theme is "If I could invite one thing to make the world a better place…" Students can submit doodles until March 20 and winners from every state will be announced on April 29.

“I’m excited to see the creative designs that students in the 46th District will come up with,” said Conroy. “Hopefully, we will see one of our own student’s submissions on the google.com website in June.”
