VILLA PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, toured the facilities of two manufacturers in her district last week in conjunction with Illinois Manufacturer’s Day.

“With multiple manufacturers in my district I want to make sure that I am aware of issues that are important to them,” said Conroy. “These manufacturers are vital parts of the community and employ quite a few folks living in District 46.”

On Tuesday, Oct. 1 Rep. Conroy toured the facility of Domtar, a cut-size business paper manufacturer. And on Thursday, Oct. 3 Rep. Conroy visited the facility of Core Centric, a reverse logistics supply chain service firm.

“A career in manufacturing is a viable option for young people and those that are looking to transition into a new career,” said Conroy. “It is important that we work as a community to get the message out that there are good paying jobs with benefits in the manufacturing industry.”
