Rep. Conroy Recognizes Teacher Appreciation Week: Visits With Students and Staff from Ardmore Elementary

VILLA PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Deb Conroy visited with students and staff from Ardmore Elementary at the Capitol in Springfield last week. Ardmore Elementary 4th Grade Teacher Lauren Thiesse accompanied Ardmore students, Shannon Williams and Charlie O’Byrne, as they visited the Capitol and presented their projects for Tech Day 2014.

“The hard work and dedication of both the teachers and students of Ardmore was evident in the projects that they displayed,” Conroy said. “Our teachers work tirelessly to improve the lives of students throughout Illinois. I urge residents to express their gratitude to the educators of our community and state.”

Ardmore Elementary’s visit to the capitol last week coincided with Teacher Appreciation Week.  During their visit students and teachers from Ardmore stressed the importance of having access to technology-based education.

“It was great getting to visit with the bright students from Ardmore Elementary, Conroy said.  “It’s essential that students are learning and working with new technology to ensure they are equipped with the requisite technological skills when they join the workforce.”
