Rep. Conroy Discusses Manufacturing Careers at CPM Industries

VILLA PARK – State Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park) toured the facilities of CPM Industries, on Thursday. CPM Industries specializes in manufacturing alloy-based custom castings. They are a 3rd generation a family-run manufacturer that has been in the area for more than 50 years.

“Improving the economic environment for family owned, small-businesses like CPM Industries is essential to getting Illinois’ economy back on track,” said Conroy. “Like many manufacturers in the district that I have talked to, CPM industries is concerned with a lack of qualified candidates for employment. A career in manufacturing is a viable, well-paying option for young people and those seeking a new career path. “

CPM Industries offers a five-year apprenticeship program to qualified candidates in pattern making. Pattern makers design the mold casings like those manufactured at CPM and can make $60k per year.
