Conroy to Donate Interest on Pay to Local Charity

VILLA PARK, Ill. – A judge ruled recently that Gov. Quinn’s suspension of legislator salaries was not constitutional. As a result, all State Legislators were sent their paychecks with interest. State Rep. Deb Conroy will be donating the interest that she received to a local charity.

“With our state facing tough fiscal times, I will not accept any extra pay that is being offered to me,” said Conroy. “I will be donating the interest I received to a charity benefitting a local family in need.”

Rep. Conroy will be heading back to Springfield this month for veto session from Tuesday Oct. 22nd until Thursday Oct. 24th.

“Illinois is facing a lot of issues, and as we head back to veto session I’m hopeful that we are able to reach solutions that will get Illinois’ fiscal house back in order,” said Conroy.  “Before returning to Springfield I am making sure that I am talking to as many residents as possible by going door-to-door and listening to their concerns.”
