Conroy Takes The “Buy Illinois Pledge” To Bolster Local Economy

VILLA PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Deb Conroy is encouraging residents to participate in the Illinois Department of Agriculture’s “Buy Illinois Challenge.”  The challenge asks Illinois residents to dedicate $10 of their existing grocery budget towards purchasing Illinois made products. If every household in Illinois took the pledge over $2.4 billion would be generated annually for the state’s economy.

“I have decided to take the pledge to buy Illinois,” said Conroy. “By purchasing products that are made here in Illinois we can help create jobs locally and improve the local economy.”

The Illinois Department of Agriculture will be rewarding those that have pledged to  “Buy Illinois” through their 3rd Annual 25 Days of Christmas contest by giving out various featured Illinois products from December 1st until the 25th to those that have signed the pledge.  Winners will be listed on the Illinois Department of Agriculture’s Facebook and twitter pages.
