Conroy Encourages Residents to Celebrate Earth Day

VILLA PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Deb Conroy (D-Villa Park) is recognizing Tuesday, April 22nd as Earth Day and encouraging residents to do their part to help keep our planet clean.

“There are many things that each and everyone of us can do every day that can make a huge difference on our carbon footprint,” Conroy said. “Simple things like recycling, unplugging unused appliances, and weatherizing our homes, can go a long way.”

This year, the Villa Park Community Pride Commission will be hosting a cleanup of the Prairie Path on Saturday April 26th. Volunteers will be meeting at the Villa Park Historical Museum located at 220 S. Villa Ave. at 9:00 a.m.

“It’s important that we take steps to preserve the natural beauty that we have been blessed with here in DuPage County,” Conroy said. “I encourage residents to recognize Earth Day in their own way, whether it’s by volunteering at a local cleanup, making sure to turn off unused lights, or making a greater effort to recycle waste.”
