York's Competitive Dance Team is Headed to State

Team finishes strong in Sectionals Friday.

After placing fifth in Sectionals on Friday, Jan. 19, York High School's pom/competitive dance team is headed to the State Finals in Bloomington.

This is the fourth year in a row the team will make an appearance at finals. Sixteen talented young ladies make up the squad: Bridgett Bergheger (captain), Alexandra Rosatti (captain), Kaylyn Antioho, Bonnie Lambert, Kasey Aponte, Alysa Menolascino, Emily Kosich, Nicole Kubiesa, Maddy Peterson, Vera Abreu, Britta Wakenight, Marissa Marshall, Jackie Feckner, Abby Wright, Ellison Bonner and Brooke Wrasse.

In addition to dancing competitively, the team also performs during halftime at home football and basketball games. The team is coached by Dawin Wu Strelow

The State Finals will be held at US Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25 and 26.
