York Announces New Head Football Coach

Brother Rice High School will be looking to fill the void.

York High School Athletic Director John Rudder announced Steve Nye is York's new head football coach.

Former coach Bill Lech after seven seasons, a 51-23 record and six Class 8A state playoff appearances.

Nye earned his bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and master's from Loyola University. He has spent the past 13 seasons as the head football coach at Brother Rice High School in Chicago, where his teams went 97-59, qualifying for the IHSA State playoffs in 10 of those 13 seasons, according to a press release from Rudder.
