Dukes Continue Winless Season

Next stop: Hinsdale Central High School Oct. 19.

It was a rainy and cold night in Elmhurst Friday, made even colder as the York Dukes Football Team tallied their eighth loss this season.

But even as they played undefeated Glenbard West Hilltoppers, the Dukes were able to come out strong in the first quarter, tying the game 7-7 and nearly taking the lead had it not been for a blocked field goal.

The Hilltoppers came back strong to finish off the Dukes 41-7 and secure their position as West Suburban Silver champions.

The Chicago Tribune sums up the game here.

York has one more chance to try to get a game in the "win" column. The Dukes take on conference rival Hinsdale Central High School (6-2, 3-2 in WSC), which won a nail-biter against Downers Grove North on Friday. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Central, 55th and Grant streets.
