Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Recognizes Three from ICHS

Immaculate Conception standouts earn special recognition.

Just like the wins this season, the awards keep coming for key members of the 2011-2012 boys basketball team at . 

The Knights finished their season with an overall record of 24-4 and captured the first conference title since 1967.  Leading the way, senior John Cheng was named to the IBCA Class 1A/2A Second Team All-State.  Cheng led the Knights throughout their record-breaking year, averaging 15.5 points, 4.7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game and he led the DuPage County area in steals, averaging 3.2 per game.  In addition to this honor, Cheng was named SCC Gold Conference Player of the Year.

ICHS senior standout Brian Harvey also earned Special Mention to the IBCA All-State team and junior Demetrius Carr garnered Honorable Mention on the All-State team.  Harvey contributed 14.7 points, 1.4 assists and 8.2 rebounds on the season and Carr pitched in 15.4 points, 2.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds to round out the Knights balanced offense.  Harvey and Carr were also SCC Gold All-Conference selections along with senior Dan Ribando.
