Football: LT Eliminates York's Chance for Playoff Berth

The Dukes will close out their season against the Hilltoppers next week in Glen Ellyn.

The Dukes started out looking like they might dominate Lyons Township at Clarence East Field in Elmhurst Friday, after an amazing play led to a York touchdown just 19 seconds into the game.

On the very first play, York quarterback Charlie Rose, after some double flea-flicker razzle dazzle, pitched the ball long to wide receiver Jeff Ostling, who ran the ball in for a touchdown. (See attached clip.)

But the Dukes had a hard time getting much going after that, and the Lions ended up with a 42-23 win. It was a must-win situation for both teams, and York no longer has a chance at a playoff berth.
