Celebrating its 29th year in 2011, the Life Time Chicago Triathlon is the fifth stop of the seven-race Life Time Triathlon Series’ Race to the Toyota Cup. Taking place along Chicago’s lakefront, one of the world’s largest
triathlon features an international-distance course comprised of a 1.5-kilometer (0.93 mile) swim, 40-kilometer (24.8-mile) bike and 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) run. The event also features a sprint-distance course with a 0.75-kilometer (0.47-mile) swim, 22-kilometer (13.67-mile) bike and five-kilometer (3.1-mile) run.

Registration
is $160-$170 for individual entries in the 2011 Life Time Chicago Triathlon and $300-$310 for the Life Time Chicago Triathlon Triple Challenge. For more

A great event to
inspire the kids to have an active healthy lifestyle is the annual Chicago Kids Triathlon. Two age group categories are offered (7-10 years old and 11-14 years old) featuring a 100 or 200 meter swim, a 4k or 8k bike and a 1k or 2k run.
Registration
costs: $45-$50. Relay teams are also available.

If you’re into
speed or new to triathlon, The Fleet Feet Sports Supersprint Triathlon is made to order featuring 375 meter swim in Lake Michigan parallel to the beach, a 10 kilometer bike and a 2.5 kilometer run. The Triathlon takes place at Foster Avenue Beach (Chicago’s north side lakefront) onSaturday, August 27 in association with the Chicago Kids Triathlon and the Life Time Chicago Triathlon multisport weekend.
