Elmhurst Cycling Classic: Images of Friday's Race

The men's pro race was the culmination of a full day of biking during the Elmhurst Cycling Classic Friday.

Professional cyclers rolled through Elmhurst Friday night as part of a Chicago-area cycling criterium. The event was hosted by Elmhurst Masters Competition Cycling Inc. and Prairie State Cycling Series, in cooperation with the city of Elmhurst, Elmhurst Park District and Elmhurst College.

The men's pro race was the main event and drew professional riders from as far as Germany, Canada and Russia, but amateur men, women and juniors raced throughout the day on Friday.

The 90-minute race traveled a loop along Elm Park, Grace, Alexander and Prospect streets, and riders had to endure temperatures well into the 90s.
