Elmhurst Airborne Seventh-grade Girls Green Take Big Wins Into Conference Finals

Seventh-grade Airborne Green Team is the only seventh-grade squad competing in the eighth-grade conference.

The Elmhurst Airborne seventh-grade girls green team won the Libertyville Shootout tournament Saturday, Feb. 16. Elmhurst defeated Vernon Hills 44-26, then won the semifinal 44-28 over Winnebago Lady Indians and beat Rockford 39-31 to win the seventh-grade championship.

Elmhurst finished its regular conference season schedule with an important win over Bloomingdale 35-30 and defeated Hinsdale 33-24 Sunday, Feb. 17.  Winning four of their last five regular season games, combined with the tournament win, gives the seventh-grade green team strong momentum leading into the eighth-grade West Suburban Girls Basketball League conference finals next weekend.

This Elmhurst Airborne girls green team is the only seventh-grade squad competing in the eighth-grade conference. Their regular season conference record of 14–6 places them fourth out of the 14 teams in the eighth grade conference. Elmhurst is among the best six teams competing for the top tier eighth-grade conference title.
