York Students Honored by Proclamation at Tuesday's District 205 Board Meeting

Elmhurst Unit District 205 School Board recognized a number of students at its board meeting Tuesday.
Board members issued proclamations honoring York High School students who earned awards in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Illinois Drafting Educators Association and Skills USA competitions.
FCCLA
The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America competition recognizes students who have excelled in family and consumer science projects. The following York High School students earned top positions in the state competition:

Alec Hein will be recognized by the board for his third-place award in the Machine and Computer Aided Drafting category of the Illinois Drafting Educators Association competition.
SKILLS USA
The Skills USA program recognizes students for leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development, as well as community service. The following York students earned medals in Skills USA competition:

- Hannah Kopach, first place in Adobe Photoshop
- Chase Peterson, first place, and Miguel Ochoa, third place, in Collision Repair Technology
- Zane Johns, second place in Full Service Auto
- Trevor Gulley, third place in Graphic Communications
- Andrew Bles, first place in Power Equipment Technology
- Cody Schau, first place and Maria Hernandez, second place in Principles of Technology
- Gina Bonfiglio, third place in Screen Printing Technology
Andrew Bles, Chase Peterson and Cody Schau qualified for the national competition in Kansas City in June. The 24 York High School students who competed in the SKILLS USA state competition won more medals this year than any time in York's history.
