Transportation Fees, Personnel Issues and Committee Appointments on School Board Agenda Tonight

Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

Elmhurst Unit District 205 School Board will meet tonight for a workshop session at 7:30 p.m. at the administration offices, 162 S. York St.

Following a closed session at 6 p.m. to discuss collective negotiations and employment of an employee, the board will receive public comments for up to three minutes.

Next on the agenda, three board members will be appointed to the Policy Committee. Board members also will be named to represent the School Board to the Legislative Education Network of DuPage County, the School Association for Special Education in DuPage, the Illinois Association of School Boards, Lizzadro Museum, and the city and park district.

The board will then discuss new board member orientation and school reform legislation.

  • Implementation of transportation fees for fiscal year 2012
  • Follett high school book rental presentation
  • Lincoln Elementary School project update
  • Ordinance update

The only item on the superintendent’s consent agenda is a personnel report, which states David Creech, assistant principal at York High School, and Coré LaVersa, special education supervisor at York, are resigning in June.

The board will then announce upcoming meetings on May 24 and June 14, and action will be taken on closed-session personnel discussions.
