School Choice for Fischer Parents on District 205 Agenda Tuesday
Several variables surround the hot-button school choice issue.
Elmhurst District 205 School Board members will provide an update on school choice and the English language learners program at the July 16 Elmhurst District 205 School board meeting.
Due to a provision in the Federal No Child Left Behind law, Fischer parents may be allowed to bus their children to Jefferson School for the 2013-14 school year. Because Fischer is a Title I school and has not achieved adequate yearly progress in two consecutive years, Fischer parents may have the option of sending their children to Jefferson, which is likely the only school in District 205 that made adequate yearly progress last year.
